“On 22nd April, I am trekking to Everest Base Camp. As part of this trek, I am also trying to raise money to teach impoverished girls to read and write, through the Australian Himalayan Foundation.

With your help, we can significantly change these little girl’s lives.

Did you know, 70 per cent of the world’s poor are women, women earn less than 10% of the world’s wages, yet do more than 66% of the world’s work, and women reinvest 90% of their income into their families, while men only invest 30-40%?

Things that we take for granted, like education, are not available to so many young girls, and without education, they have no hope of a future, no possibilities to change their situation. In is a vicious and never-ending cycle - until we choose to change it.

As part of our trip to Nepal, we will visit schools run by the Australian Himalayan Foundation, and see their work first hand. We hope to raise enough money that WE can really make an impact on these children’s lives, and their futures.
